The text of the manuscript describing the results of the original research should contain the following sections: introduction (relevance), purpose and objectives, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusion.
Purpose of the studyReflects the main question, the solution of which required the research
IntroductionThe relevance of the research, the scale of the problem being studied (prevalence, morbidity, etc.), indirect effects (social, economic), solved and unresolved aspects of the problem. Each statement of the authors, with the exception of the most well-known ones, must be accompanied by links to sources of information (no more than 3 links for each statement).
Material and methods:- study design: study object, planned duration, intended medical intervention, methods for testing the hypothesis and evaluating results, description of the randomization procedure),
- eligibility criteria (inclusion, non-inclusion and exclusion from the study),
- conditions of conduct (centers that took part in the study, characteristics of specific social, economic, etc. factors),
- Features of the research implementation:
- duration of the study and information about changes in time intervals;
- features of medical intervention or organizational measures (particularities of the examination and treatment, preoperative preparation, surgical interventions, anesthesia, postoperative management, etc.),
- indicators that allow you to evaluate the results and achievement of the goal of the study (development of complications, biochemical parameters, assessment of quality of life, etc.),
- information on the results of the review of the research protocol by the ethical committee (official name of the ethical committee; number and date of signing of the document; conclusion).
- methods of statistical analysis (developer of a statistical software package, data, sample size calculation, statistical criteria used in data analysis).
When mentioning equipment and drugs, the company and country of manufacture are indicated in parentheses. The journal uses international nonproprietary names of drugs and preparations. Trade names are given in the “Material and Methods” section, indicating the manufacturer and their international nonproprietary (generic) name.
ResultsThe main additional results of the study are presented with the results of statistical data analysis, illustrations (figures, tables) without duplicating data in the text. The presence or absence of adverse events is noted. All adverse events that occurred during the study (illnesses, injuries, unplanned surgical interventions, etc.) are described, the connection of which with the medical intervention cannot be excluded.
Units of measurement are given in accordance with the International System of Units (SI). Abbreviations, except for generally accepted abbreviations of chemical and mathematical quantities and terms, should be used in exceptional cases and deciphered at the first mention.
Latin names of microorganisms are highlighted in italics; upon first mention, the name is given in full - genus and species (Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptomyces lividans); upon repeated mention, the generic name is shortened to one letter (E.coli, S.aureus, S.lividans).
The names of genetic elements are given in the three-letter designation of the Latin alphabet in lowercase letters, italics (tet), and the products encoded by the corresponding genetic elements are given in uppercase letters (TET).
DiscussionDiscussion includes interpretation of the study results. New important aspects are highlighted and compared with data from other researchers. It is necessary to note the scope of the study and its practical significance. Hypotheses and evidence-based recommendations can be included in the discussion.
ConclusionThe conclusion is presented in the form of a single text, which briefly summarizes the results of previously conducted research (1–3 sentences), sets out the key unresolved aspects of the identified problem (1–3 sentences), the results obtained with an explanation of their contribution to solving the problem (5–7 sentences) , the rationale for the clinical and/or scientific use of the research results is provided.
